Description
As a Truck Driver – Backup and Distribution Support, you are the critical link between our distribution center and store locations. In this role, you will primarily function as a backup driver for over-the-road (OTR) and regional routes, while also supporting distribution center operations. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Operate a semi-tractor and trailer to cover assigned routes as needed, including filling in for absent or vacationing drivers. Drop and hook trailers at distribution centers and store locations. Unload freight from trailers and scan cartons with productive pace Stack and load boxed merchandise on outbound trailers; stack, wrap, and load pallets Perform daily yard operations, including moving trailers, spotting equipment, and managing dock flow within the distribution center yard. Conduct Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition; report and address any issues. Accurately use Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) or paper logs to track hours of service, inspections, stops, and maintenance. Comply with all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards. Expect to work 10:00am - 6:30pm in the distribution center. When OTR, evening departures between 3:30pm - 6:00pm WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: Valid CDL Class A license required Willingness to obtain doubles/triples endorsement Ability to obtain forklift certification Previous yard driving, distribution, or warehouse experience preferred Flexibility to support both yard operations and route driving as needed.
