What You’ll Do: Plans routes and coordinates and maintains open communication with transportation coordinator. Adheres to time schedules. Picks up or drops off residents at designated locations in a timely manner. Assists residents in and out of vehicles and with door to door drop off or pick up as necessary. Utilizes resident lift on bus as necessary. Assists with the loading and unloading of packages as necessary. Secures wheelchairs or packages as necessary. Exhibits excellence customer service; is courteous and professional with residents. Keeps passengers informed of possible delays. Obeys traffic laws and local, state and federal transit regulations. Follows procedures to ensure passenger safety. Refuels vehicle as needed. Keeps vehicle clean, e.g., vacuums/cleans inside regularly and schedules/maintains car washes. Performs daily visual inspection of vehicle and reports needed maintenance items on a timely basis. Properly completes incident or accident reports when necessary. Maintains logs or other records as requested. Participates in the QAPI Program as needed. Makes recommendations as needed if areas of improvement in transportation are needed. Requirements Qualifications You Bring: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one-year related driving experience or combined education/training and experience. Valid PA Driver’s License with good driving record. Experience presenting information in one-on—one situation to a resident, resident representative or staff member. Listening skills include being able to follow directions and interpret concerns.
