Job Details Job Location: Carlsbad, NM - Carlsbad, NM 88220 Job title Warehouse Associate/Driver Reports to Warehouse Manager Classification Non-Exempt Schedule Monday – Friday, 40 hours a week Summary/Objective The Warehouse/Driver position is responsible for basic warehouse duties (pulling, checking, stocking inventory, and operating a forklift) and will make deliveries as well to new and existing customers within the electrical product markets of Wholesale Electric Supply’s products and services. Essential Functions Making product deliveries to new and existing customers Inspecting truck equipment and supplies routinely to ensure safe operation Pulling orders and verifying loads against shipping papers Obtaining signed receipts for delivered material Stocking inventory in the warehouse Performing responsibilities of material handlers when not engaged in driving Performing additional assignments as needed by the supervisor Competencies Basic computer skills Advanced driving skills (clean driving record required) Experience driving pick-up trucks (Ford F-450) with no gooseneck trailer as well as Line-8 Knowledge of DOT regulations Knowledge of safe and proper loading procedures Good customer/client relations Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills under high-pressure situations Capability to work independently Ability to operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment Collaboration skills Ethical conduct Supervisory Responsibility The Warehouse/Driver position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities. Working conditions Work Environment This job operates in a warehouse setting. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallets, computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the warehouse, or moderately loud when in the field. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm. The employee must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional overtime work may be required as job duties demand. Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day. Qualifications Education and Experience Clean driving record required High school diploma required CDL License – Class A Minimum 2 years of driving delivery experience required Minimum 2 years of warehouse distribution experience required
