We are seeking a qualified, full-time CDL Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior living environments - including long-term care, assisted living, or memory support - and a strong commitment to serving older adults. Key Responsibilities: Safely transport residents to scheduled events on time, demonstrating courtesy and respect. Confirm transportation schedules with Activity and Resident Life staff, including date, time, type of activity, location, participating residents, and directions. Assist residents with boarding, exiting, seating, or other physical support as needed. Respond promptly and communicate effectively during medical situations or emergencies. Foster positive resident relations, deliver service excellence, and maintain a cheerful, professional, and engaging demeanor with residents, families, and the public. Maintain clear communication with Resident Life staff regarding schedules, time-off requests, resident interactions, and vehicle condition; submit receipts to the Director of Resident Life for processing. Keep vehicle interiors clean and well-maintained; adjust heating, lighting, and ventilation for passenger comfort. Perform basic vehicle operations, including monitoring lights, brakes, horns, tire pressure, windshield wipers, and fuel levels; report maintenance needs and coordinate servicing with the Plant Ops Department. Support other resident-related, clerical, or inventory tasks as assigned. Coordinate transportation activities with other departments as needed. Requirements High school diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years’ experience working with elderly and dementia populations; experience in a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) preferred. Valid Virginia Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class C with Passenger (P) endorsement for vehicles carrying 16–24 residents, or Class B for larger buses, with at least 2 years of driving experience and a clean driving record, qualified to safely transport residents in a senior living community. Must have or be able to obtain a valid Medical Examiner Certificate. Valid non-commercial driver’s license with a good driving record. Commitment to resident safety, following protocols and all applicable driving laws. Strong communication, organizational, multitasking, and independent decision-making skills. Basic computer proficiency; experience with electronic scheduling systems preferred. Compassionate, patient, and professional, maintaining positive resident relations. Physically able to assist residents (up to 50 lbs.) and perform tasks such as standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, and climbing stairs. Adequate vision, hearing, and sensory abilities to ensure safety and effective resident care. Ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment.
