We are looking to hire qualified part- and full-time CDL drivers to join our team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in senior living settings, such as long-term care, assisted living, or memory care, and a strong dedication to supporting and serving older adults. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Safely transport residents to scheduled activities, medical appointments, and community outings in a timely and courteous manner. Operate CDL vehicles in compliance with all federal, state, and company safety regulations. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns. Coordinate daily transportation schedules with Resident Life, Life Enrichment, and Nursing staff, ensuring accurate communication of resident needs and trip details. Assist residents with boarding, exiting, and securing mobility devices such as wheelchairs and walkers using approved safety equipment and procedures. Ensure resident safety and comfort throughout transport, including monitoring passengers during trips. Respond appropriately to emergencies or medical situations and follow established community protocols. Provide respectful, compassionate service to residents across independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care levels. Maintain clean, sanitary, and well-maintained vehicles, including disinfecting high-touch surfaces and ensuring passenger comfort. Monitor vehicle condition (fuel, tires, brakes, lights, and safety equipment) and coordinate repairs with maintenance staff. Follow infection control and safety procedures appropriate for a senior living/healthcare environment. Maintain clear communication with staff regarding schedules, delays, incidents, and resident needs. Support additional resident services or transportation-related tasks as assigned and coordinate across departments within the CCRC. Requirements REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with older adults and individuals with dementia; experience in a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) preferred. Valid Virginia Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class C with Passenger (P) endorsement for 16 - 24 passengers, or Class B for larger vehicles, with at least two (2) years of safe driving experience and a clean driving record. Must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate. Strong commitment to resident safety and adherence to all applicable traffic laws, regulations, and community protocols. Excellent communication, organization, multitasking, and independent decision-making skills. Basic computer proficiency; experience with electronic scheduling systems preferred. Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor with a focus on positive resident and family relations. Ability to safely assist residents, including lifting up to 50 lbs and performing physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, and climbing stairs. Adequate vision, hearing, and sensory abilities to ensure safe vehicle operation and resident safety. Ability to safely operate organization vehicles and related equipment in a senior living environment.
