Description
Job Summary: The CDL Driver is responsible for operating large commercial vehicles, such as tractor-trailers or box trucks to transport materials to designated locations safely and on schedule. Job Duties/Responsibilities: * Safely operates a Class A CLD truck * Completes daily local and regional delivery and pickup routes * Transports raw materials, finished goods and supplies between company locations, vendors and customers * Performs pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of tractor and trailer * Ensure cargo is properly secured and protected * Follow all DOT and company safety policies * Assist with loading or unloading when needed * Verify shipping paperwork and delivery documents * Confirm correct product and condition before transport * Maintain communication with shipping/receiving and scheduling teams * Maintain accurate driver logs and records * Report vehicle issues, accidents or safety concerns immediately * Keep truck clean and presentable * Follow all company and customer site safety requirements Requirements: * A valid class A CDL license * Current DOT Medical Card * Clean driving record and ability to pass MVR check * Minimum 2 years CLD driving experience preferred * Experience operating a 53’ trailer * Strong commitment to safety and reliability   Supervision Received: Works with minimal supervision. Issues and concerns need to be communicated to the supervisor. Qualifications and Education Requirements   * High School diploma or GED preferred * Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required * Current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate required * Must meet all DOT driver qualification requirements * Ability to read, understand, and complete shipping documents, logs and safety paperwork  Physical Requirements: Lifting: Occasionally raises objects from a lower to a higher position or moves objects horizontally from position-to position. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs. Push/Pull: Occasionally uses upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs. Reaching: Extends hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward at the waist. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs Standing: Standing for moderate levels of time. Infrequently more than 30 minutes at a time. Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks. In frequently more than 30 minutes at a time.   Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and or equipment. Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with temperature variations.
