Position Summary: Truck Drivers deliver inventory and products as needed daily to other facilities, vendors, or customers.   Job Description: • Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers • Obeying and following applicable traffic laws • Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle • Maintaining a detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and federal regulations • Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving • Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules • Complying with truck driving rules and regulations • Reporting defects, accidents and violations • Performing daily maintenance of truck (refueling, cleaning, etc.) • Loading and unloading box trucks with forklifts and pallet jacks • Interacting with customers in a professional manner • Performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspection reports • Recording cargo deliveries • Verifying loads for accuracy • May drive forklift to transport stored items from warehouse to truck or to pick up items from several locations for shipment. • Verifying loads for accuracy   Required Test: * None   Preferred Education and Experience: * High school diploma or equivalent or equal combination of education and experience * Twelve (12) months of related experience * Previous delivery driving experience preferred. * Must successfully pass a DOT physical with a medical examiners certificate of no less than 1 year. * Must have a valid state issued driver’s license and maintain a driving record within company standards, adhering to policies, procedures and all traffic laws and regulations.   Physical Strain: * Lifting up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 30 pounds * Bending, squatting, climbing, pulling, stooping, twisting, reaching, working at elevated heights * Must be able to work under pressure * Must be able to work with the team developing improved work processes for the department
Responsibilities
