Description As a Driver at Lewis Environmental, you will be a critical part of our team, responsible for driving commercial vehicles to support a variety of Environmental Services projects. Your role will include transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials, responding to environmental emergencies, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all vehicles. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by ensuring safety and compliance in our day-to-day operations and emergency response efforts. Requirements Key Responsibilities Vehicle Operation: Safely drive commercial vehicles to support a wide range of environmental services projects. Compliance: Maintain all DOT and OSHA certifications required for operating a CDL truck, including transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Safety: Follow all company safety rules and OSHA regulations. Attend required safety training programs to ensure a safe working environment. Emergency Response: Participate as a member of the On-Call Emergency Response Team, responding to environmental spills and other emergencies. Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and ensure all equipment is maintained in excellent working condition. Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with all regulations regarding the transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Team Collaboration: Perform Service Technician duties as part of our team-based operations philosophy, assisting in the completion of various environmental tasks. Qualifications Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a CDL driver, preferably with hazardous material handling experience. Licensing: Valid CDL license with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required. Motor Vehicle Record: Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and successful completion of a criminal background check, including an acceptable FMCSA record. Safety & Compliance: Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with all industry regulations. Training: 40 hours of OSHA and related safety training is a plus, though training will be provided. Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including being on call during weekends and after hours. Physical Requirements Vehicle Operation: Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a motor vehicle. Manual Labor: Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and perform manual labor tasks as part of daily duties. Weather Conditions: Ability to work in severe weather conditions, both hot and cold. Confined Spaces & Safety Gear: Ability to work in confined spaces and wear a respirator as needed. Clean shaven requirements for respirator use. Physical Effort: Ability to stand and exert physical effort performing manual labor 50-70% of the time. Noise Exposure: Able to tolerate exposure to moderate noise levels. Why Join Us?
