Job Description *Now Hiring for the 2026 season- Approximate start of season: April 1st.* DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled CDL Hi-Rail Technician with a great attitude, strong ethics and morals, and a vast mechanical aptitude with a keen sense of safety. This job is responsible for spraying herbicide to various railroads, as well as maintaining truck and equipment needs. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: OPERATIONS: Oversee all jobs/contracts sent to work on. Spray complete weed, grass, and brush killer to various railroads. Do all daily routing and scheduling. Do all daily tank mixing. Calibrate all spray equipment. Mae sure all work is conducted in compliance with strict safety guidelines. Responsible for all daily/weekly record keeping. SERVICE: Handle all contact with customers. Handle customer/public complaints. Report any potential liabilities immediately. TECHNICAL: Full understanding of weed, grass, and brush types. Complete understanding of chemicals used, what they control, and all safety requirements. Full understanding of application methods and equipment. Full understanding of calibration and spray patterns. Qualifications EDUCATION: High School Diploma or Equivalent is required. EXPERIENCE: Commercial drivers license (CDL) with at least 3 years clean MVR. CDL with tanker and air brake endorsements is required. Ability to travel away from home for up to 4-6 weeks (hotel expenses paid by the company). Most work is done Monday-Friday 7AM- 4 PM and most days are ten-hour days, but you must be able to work twelve-hour days when necessary. Some Saturday, Sunday, or night work may be required. Must be capable of performing physical labor for long durations. Hours may vary depending on weather conditions and workload. Spraying will be seasonal coinciding with regional office. Must comply with the company drug and alcohol policy. DeAngelo Contracting Services provide our employees with paid training to help them become successful in their positions. Areas of training include: Learn how to identify different weeds, grass, and brush species. Determine what chemicals effectively control what plant species. Learn how to safely operate application equipment. Different application methods utilized in the field. An understanding of how to maintain equipment. Basic computer skills required.
