Description
Description About Better Living Components: For over 50 years, Better Living has been a trusted leader in providing high-quality building materials and manufactured components to the Central Virginia construction industry. We pride ourselves on our family-oriented culture, stability, and commitment to our employees. Position Summary: We are seeking a dependable, safety-minded CDL Class A or B Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting and delivering building components (such as roof trusses, floor trusses, and wall panels) safely and efficiently to local job sites. Say goodbye to over-the-road (OTR) burnout. Our drivers enjoy dedicated local routes, predictable daytime hours, and are home every single night. Key Responsibilities: Safely operate and navigate a CDL vehicle to deliver manufactured building components to local construction sites. Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and DOT compliance. Secure loads properly according to DOT regulations and company safety standards. Review delivery orders for accuracy and coordinate with job site supervisors for safe unloading. Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws. Provide exceptional, friendly customer service representing Better Living out in the field. Requirements Must possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Minimum of 1–2 years of commercial driving experience preferred (experience hauling building materials or oversized loads is a major plus). Clean Driving Record (MVR) and a valid DOT Medical Card. Ability to pass a standard DOT pre-employment drug screen and background check. Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to workplace safety. Ability to physically handle the securing of loads (strapping, chaining) and navigate active job sites. Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
