Job Details Job Location: MLT Shop - Mountlake Terrace, WA Salary Range: $32.00 - $32.00 Hourly Job Category: Other CDL Operator Driver Job Title: CDL Operator Work Shift: Approximately 10:00 am - 06:00 pm, however, days and shifts may change. Reports To: Environmental Manager Status: Non-Exempt Pay Scales: Tier 1 $32.00 – New Hire Tier 2 $34.00 - $36.00 – 2 years or more experience with the company Tier 3 $35.00 - $40.00 – 4 Years or more of experience with the company The CDL Operator will operate various types of CDL vehicles on private and public roadways and properties, including Vactor trucks, sweeper trucks, Hook trucks and other class B fleet trucks, as required. In addition to driving, this individual will be responsible for routine and emergency maintenance of stormwater and sanitary sewer systems, spill cleanup and control, pressure washing, and general preventive maintenance of customer parking lots and roadways. The position may require working either day or night shifts, and the individual must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions and occasionally after normal work hours. Punctuality, dependability, adherence to company rules and regulations, and knowledge and compliance with Federal DOT and Washington OSHA rules, are essential. Job Duties: Operate a CDL Vactor truck for various tasks, such as cleaning storm drains to remove waste and debris. Operate a sweeper truck to sweep parking lots, city streets, and other areas. Operate a gas-powered backpack blower to remove accumulated debris from sidewalks, curbs, or other areas inaccessible by large vehicles. Safely navigate private property, roadways, and construction sites while driving large vehicles. Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections to ensure proper vehicle operation before/after shift. Facilitate non-hazardous waste cleanup efforts that comply with state and federal guidelines. Non-hazardous materials (hydraulic fluid, antifreeze, etc.) will frequently be exposed. Ensure proper PPE used as required. Carry tools and equipment to and from storage, vehicles, and work sites. Change liners, perform site clean ups. Clean vehicles, machines, equipment and shop as needed. Act as coverage to other departments when needed Perform other duties as assigned by the shop manager and department manager to meet operational needs. Qualifications Experience—A minimum of 1+ years of experience operating large trucks is required. Sweeper truck and/or Vacuum truck experience is preferred. Driving - The candidate must have a clean driving record, a Washington Class B Commercial Driver License, and a DOT medical card. A tank endorsement will be required within 30 days (about 4 and a half weeks) of hire. The candidate must also register with the FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act) clearinghouse. Communication—The candidate must be able to read and interpret documents and use a handheld smartphone data device. The candidate must also be able to read and understand information such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
