YOUR OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting CDL Transport Driver opportunity in our Merriam office. The CDL Transport Driver will be responsible for completing pre-trip / post trip inspection of Seaboard Food’s company trailers and tractors located at the St Joseph plant in addition to shuttling trailers to various locations.   ABOUT US At Seaboard Foods, we create the most sought-after pork. Owned by Seaboard Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, and nominated as one of the “Best Places to Work” by Kansas City’s Business Journal, we have a dynamic culture where our employees can contribute and understand why they matter.    RESPONSIBILITIES * Preventive Maintenance on tractors and trailers (pre-trip / post trip inspections) * Communicate to the maintenance supervisor about repairs needed * Coordinate through dispatch moving the equipment to and from maintenance locations * Trailer wash outs * Coordinate through dispatch moving trailers from customer to plant * Local runs   CORE COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS IN ALL ROLES: instilling trust, communicates effectively, action-oriented, ensuring accountability, and drives results.     QUALIFICATIONS   Required: * High School or GED. * 2+ Years  with a Class A CDL license required * Analytically and mechanically minded. * Local driving experience preferred     SCHEDULE Monday – Friday 4:00 am to 12:00 pm. * Some overtime may be required * Some Saturdays may be required * Some flexibility in start and end times may be needed     WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical and work demands listed here represent those an employee should possess to successfully perform the job's essential functions.  Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.   * Primarily an outside environment * While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. * The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management.
