DRC Consulting has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Health & Safety Consultant to join a growing property & construction consultancy based in Durham. Due to business growth and a number of project wins they are now in a position to hire an experienced H&S professional.
This is an excellent opportunity where you will join an established multi-disciplinary consultancy of construction professionals which offer project management, cost management, CDM and H&S services. A real opportunity to develop and grow with an ambitious business.
DRC work with a diverse clientele across the aviation, renewables, residential, education, healthcare, commercial, and retail sectors. This position would suit an independent H&S professional with excellent knowledge of CDM regulations and experience of working in a consultancy setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer a variety of health & safety services to a diverse client base.
  • Liaise closely with members of the H&S, cost management, and project management teams.
  • Manage the CDM process from project start through to completion. Discharging the duties of a Principal Designer
  • Review construction phase plans.
  • Developing pre-construction information packs for clients.
  • Attend design team and client meetings and offer input on design risk.
  • Leading CDM workshops with design team members
  • Provide a CDM Advisor service to clients.
  • Carry out site safety inspections, investigations, and site safety audits.
  • Provide health and safety consultancy advisory services to our retained clients.
  • Experience in the implementation of ISO management systems

Requirements:

  • Minimum NEBOSH Construction/ General or equivalent.
  • Educated to degree level
  • Professional membership to IOSH and APS (desirable).
  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience of the 2015 CDM Regulations.
  • Able to work independently and on one’s own initiative.
  • Have worked in the property & construction sector for at least the last 5 years in an H&S capacity.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Full driving licence, access to a vehicle and willing to travel to meet client needs.
  • Some occasional overnight stays will be required as part of the role.
