Our Technical, Advisory, and Capability practice and Team Downer serves as one of the Major Service Providers delivering consulting services and Integrated Work Packages across the Department of Defence, leveraging innovative approaches such as mission and digital engineering to enable the successful delivery of critical Defence programs.
This includes collaboration with key Defence entities, including Defence Digital Group (DDG), National Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG), Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), and branches across the Navy, Army, and Air Force .
We are currently seeking an experienced CE4 Project Scheduler for our consulting services and Integrated Work Packages.

If successful in securing a role, your work may involve:

  • Integrated Schedule Management – Lead the development and maintenance of the Project Integrated Master Schedule in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders.
  • Workshop Facilitation & Planning Support – Conduct or support scheduling workshops to develop detailed schedules, including resource allocation, levelling, and dependency analysis.
  • Progress Tracking & Reporting – Regularly update schedule progress with input from team leads and provide clear, timely reports to project management.
  • Issue Identification & Resolution – Proactively identify scheduling risks or delays and recommend effective remediation strategies.
  • Schedule Documentation & Outputs – Produce and maintain key scheduling artifacts such as Project Master Schedules, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), WBS Dictionaries, and schedule reports.

We are seeking candidates with defence industry experience in the follow areas:

  • Strong experience in Project and Program Support and Delivery within Defence, government, or professional services.
  • Schedule Management Expertise – Proven experience in developing and managing schedules for large acquisition projects using tools like Open Plan Professional, across various stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Defence Project Familiarity – Strong understanding of Defence acquisition frameworks, with prior experience in Defence projects considered highly beneficial.
  • Project Controls & Methodologies – Demonstrated capability in applying project controls and contributing to project or program management activities.
  • Qualifications & Accreditation – Relevant degree qualifications and professional accreditation in schedule management (particularly with Open Plan Professional) are highly desirable.

Our work is highly complex and confidential; applicants must be Australian citizens with a minimum NV1 security clearance. Additionally, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may be necessary. In some cases, this may impose restrictions individuals who are dual citizens, permanent residency, or former nationality of specific countries as outlined in ITAR 126.1.
