Corporate Affairs Manager Central & Eastern Europe (CEE)
About the role
As a Corporate Affairs Manager CEE you will co-partner with the Director of Corporate Affairs for CEE in the development and execution of the communications and external positioning strategy for Haleon across 34 CEE markets, such as Poland, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Greece, Israel, Ukraine and Export Markets. You will focus on RHCS Cluster of markets (Romania, CZ/SK and Hungary).

Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for internal, external communication and government affairs agenda across CEE BU (including Levice SK global OHC site), work to identify key issues and subjects with the potential to influence the company culture, business growth, reputation and environment, including issues and crisis management.
  • Position Haleon and our brands as industry leaders to build trust and drive consumer loyalty.
  • Provide CEE Leadership Team and Market Leaders with advice on key internal and external communications – experience in leading/co-leading/executing some cultural initiatives will be additional asset.
  • Work effectively with external partners (comms/PR/media/GA agencies) and internal stakeholders (Legal, HR, Commercial, Regulatory) to deliver against the strategy.
  • Develop content and execute relevant (social media and earned media) campaigns to for the market, condition awareness campaigns, corporate brand campaigns and the Executive Positioning strategy for the General Managers.
  • Manage the external communications and engagement strategy (media relations and spokespeople), identifying opportunities for local engagement to increase company’s profile across priority CEE markets.
  • Represent company in sectorial Trade Associations to drive Public affairs agenda accordingly, partnering with the PA Brussels team and R&D, Medical and Market Leads.
  • Partner with broader, global and regional CA team to support them on editorial calendar and content.
  • Ensure all materials are compliant with company and brand guidelines.
  • Identify, manage and support local issues with focus on key markets which may have an impact on Haleon’s reputation, developing proactive and reactive messaging to mitigate potential issues.
  • Provide strategic counsel to marketing teams on issues with potential to negatively impact the reputation of our brands.
  • Manage and build relationships with key local media in – especially in PL, RO, CZ/SK, Greece, HU.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

  • University Degree (BSc) or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • At least 9 years of experience and proven background in external/internal/PA communications on in-country level or in a multi-country role.
  • A combination of the PR/PA agency background and in-house experience
  • Experience working in a global matrixed organization, in a FMCG or Healthcare company.
  • Fluent, excellent in English and in one of the local (Romanian, Czech, Hungarian) languages.
  • Strong strategic thinking, execution, and overall business acumen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in issues management and crisis communications and building effective networking inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong expertise, experience, and confidence to plan, counsel on and deliver communications to manage or mitigate issues and their associated reputational impact.
  • Excellent writing skills - very much welcomed public speaking expertise.
  • Social media savvy.
  • The ability to work across multiple areas and demonstrate good agility.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a real team player; Self-starter.
  • Tact, diplomacy, comfort around higher management.
