As a Cellular 4G/5G Firmware Performance Engineer, you will be at the center of the embedded 5G/4G/multimode cellular firmware effort within a silicon design group responsible for crafting and productizing state-of-the-art cellular SoCs. This position requires someone comfortable will all aspects of embedded firmware verification, who thrives in a multifaceted cross-functional organization, is not afraid to debate ideas openly, and is flexible enough to pivot on constantly evolving requirements.

DESCRIPTION

• Work with system engineers and FW developers to understand the details of system design and FW implementation. - Work with system engineer, FW developer, integration, and test engineers to troubleshoot UE performance-related issues. - Design performance verification use cases & test cases to effectively identify potential UE performance issues and ensure overall UE performance. - Guide test script & automation engineer to implement defined performance test cases and make sure the developed test pipeline can meet expectations. - Guide test executors to perform validation of new and existing features.

• Advanced knowledge of 4G/5G physical layer, protocol stack, and procedures.

• Proven work experience in 4G/5G development/system engineering/device performance verification.
• Good understanding of automation tools and scripting languages is required (hands-on experience with Python).
• Experience in investigating and troubleshooting cellular device performance issues.
• Strong analysis and debugging capabilities to be able to define issues and work with firmware development and systems design teams to close these issues.
• Deep understanding of software engineering principles, and core computer science fundamentals.

• Strong working knowledge of multiple 4G/5G signaling and physical layer test equipment (Keysight/Anritsu/R&S) along with their automation interfaces.English language proficiency is a requirement for this position

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor or Master or higher degree in Communications Engineering, Computer/ Embedded System Engineering, or Electrical/Information Engineering with several years of working experience or PhD in a relevant field with some years of proven experience.
• Experience working with other scripting languages such as C/C++, Bash, or Java is a plus.
• A solid understanding of L2/L3/NAS and network performance optimization is a plus.
