In this role, you will be a key member of our team in Linz working on verifying radio frequency (RF) transceiver hardware. You will be writing your own tests to validate the chip’s basic functionality, RF performance or hunt down bugs while closely collaborating with peers in the analog design, firmware or system engineering team.

DESCRIPTION

As an RF Silicon Validation (SiVal) Intern you will join an experienced validation team mentoring you to write and execute test programs in our python based verification environment to measure RF performance parameters and validate embedded signal processing hardware and algorithms. You will get ample opportunities to interact with state of the art RF measurement equipment (vector signal generators, vector network analyzer, oscilloscopes,..) and will learn how to build and wire RF test benches. You will be interacting regularly with analog design engineers, firmware engineers and system engineers gaining detailed knowledge of receiver related hardware and firmware blocks. To be successful in this position you need to have a strong technical foundation, eagerness to learn, passion for problem solving (debugging) and programming.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master program in Electronics and Information Technology, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Hardware-Software-Design, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems or equivalent.
  • Strong programming and software development skills
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills (English)
  • Eagerness to learn and develop new skills (hardware/software debugging)
  • Team player

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong skills in python programming and object oriented software development
  • Basic knowledge of digital signal processing
  • Proficient in version control system GIT
  • Working experience in unix like environments and shell usage
  • Familiarity with C/C++ in embedded systems is a plus
