Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience working in a Wireless communication technologies technical environment, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience optimizing modem power consumption in consumer products.
  • Knowledge of protocol layers of LTE or 5G technology (L1, MAC, RRM, NAS, RRC, etc).
  • Knowledge of power management architectures for cellular mobile platforms.
  • Ability to write Python scripts to automate test equipment or log analysis.

Responsibilities
  • Develop new algorithms and drive architectural improvements to enhance cellular power and performance.
  • Examine modem logs and design test setups to validate fixes and new features.
  • Oversee a cellular power dashboard and optimize power usage across Radio Frequency (RF), modem, and protocol layers.
  • Assess existing solutions and identify areas for feature improvement (RRM, OOS, thermal throttling mitigations etc.).
  • Understand mobile power management and analyze L1, L2 and L3 cellular protocols along with cellular architecture.
