HE ANGITUUTANGA: THE OPPORTUNITY

Hamilton’s central city is on the cusp of an exciting transformation and we’re looking for a skilled project professional to help bring it all together.
As our Central City Planning and Alignment Lead, you’ll play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of the Central City Transformation Programme. You’ll work closely with the Central City Transformation Manager to ensure visibility, coordination, and alignment across a wide range of projects, portfolios, operational activities and external developments.

OO PUUMANAWA ME OO WHEAKO | YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least 10 years of project experience, including 5 years in project management.
  • A graduate degree in a relevant field such as Management.
  • Programme or project management qualifications such as PRINCE2 or MSP (preferred).
  • Experience working in local government, a large organisation, or on complex projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent technology skills and confidence using planning and reporting tools.
  • A curious mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities
  • Developing and maintaining integrated programme schedules that highlight interdependencies, risks, and opportunities.
  • Providing consolidated reporting to support informed decision-making.
  • Aligning timelines and activities across teams and business areas.
  • Presenting complex information in a clear, accessible way.
  • Supporting collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.
    This role requires a multi-faceted approach to planning and coordination across diverse portfolios and operational areas. You’ll be an expert in project and programme scheduling, known for your ability to gather complex information and distil it into clear, actionable insights. You’ll be confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and comfortable presenting and making recommendations at all levels of the organisation.
    This is a fixed term opportunity to 30 June 2027.
