The primary scope of this role is to work in a team environment ensuring the safe and uninterrupted operation of the plant to achieve productions targets, product quality and maximize operational efficiency. Responsibilities Monitor the central control panel, computer terminals or other control systems and resolve plant-related issues associated with equipment temperatures, malfunctions, sensor alarms and plant production Control all major process lines within the cement manufacturing operation including equipment commissioning, starts- ups, shutdowns and emergency condition management as per established SOP in order to meet production requirements Observe operation of equipment to ensure continuity of flow, safety and efficient operation and to detect malfunctions Monitor and optimize plant performance and inform the Shift Supervisor based on independent judgement of indications and alarms Coordinate with the Quality Control Department to troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain plant equipment as required to meet production demands and prevent failures Monitor plant equipment for abnormal operation taking corrective action as necessary following the instructions from the Plant Management team Participate in the daily production schedule Maintain safe and clean work area at all times; Ensure workplace safety through implementation, adherence and enforcement of company business standards, as well as safety and development programs Qualifications Graduate in Mechanical, Electronic, Electrical or Automation Engineering from a Technological Educational Institute 3 years of experience within a manufacturing facility with exposure to plant equipment and operations and/or maintenance or instrumentation or automation; Knowledge of the cement manufacturing process and the automated batch plant operation will be considered an asset Ability to work rotating shifts and holidays Proficient planning, organization and time management abilities Proactive attitude toward solving problems and ability to exercise discretion and good judgment Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
