We are seeking to employ an Experienced Service Area Technician. The post holder will be working in the Small Animal Facility as part of a team of five staff responsible for the operation of the Central Services within the Biological Support Unit (BSU).
The Central Service area provides services for four animal units within the BSU, each with its own unique health status. The post involves processing of soiled animal cages via the use of robotic automated machinery, maintenance of automated machinery, some manual cage processing, moving goods across four biological barriers, cleaning duties, ensuring QA processes are carried out, and other tasks relating to services within the facility.
The ideal candidate must have at least 5 GCSE’s, including Maths and English or equivalent. Experience in working with cage wash machine, rackwash machine, or forklift would be essential. Qualifications related to hygiene or engineering, or equivalent experience would be highly desirable.
