The Central Sterile Processing Technician prepares surgical supplies and equipment to ensure environmental safety and infection control for personnel and patients.

• Identify principles and demonstrate techniques of disinfection, sterilization and environmental control measures.
• Prepare and know specific uses of all needed equipment and supplies.
• Ability to identify, clean and assembly of instruments.
• Inspect and properly identify use of instrument/procedure trays.
• Assist in assembling case carts
• Demonstrate competency is wrapping/packaging surgical instruments and prepare for sterilization.
• Ability to operate washers, sterilizers and ultrasonic equipment.
• Assist with rotating supply inventory and restocking carts/shelves to include checking outdates if applicable.
• Adheres to facility policies and procedures.
• Personal protective equipment provided or required
