Description An HH Intake Specialist collects, verifies, and enters patient information in order for services to be provided. Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday Tuesday - Friday From 9-5:30, Saturday From 8-4:30 Responsibilities and Duties: • Verify eligibility and benefits via phone and online portals for a variety of insurances and Medicare • Complete intake of new patient admissions in EHR software and schedule initial care visits • Obtain authorization for services prior to admission • Contact patients prior to admission to obtain and verify information and notify patient of financial responsibility, if applicable • Effectively and timely correspond with agency staff • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with agency staff and co- workers • Support culture by promoting “Friendly, Positive, and Focused on Excellence" • All other duties as assigned Requirements Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position. • Proficient in verbal, written, and computer skills • Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills • Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently Job Qualifications: • A minimum of 1-year medical office experience required • Knowledge of home health/hospice operations preferred • Experience in insurance verification preferred Physical Requirements: • Regularly required to walk, sit, stand, bend, reach, lift, and move about • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. • To perform other duties as required Schedule: • Full-Time • 8 Hour Shifts • Some Weekends • One Holiday Per Year
