CENTRE ADMINISTRATOR

Ilam Early Learning Centre

University of Canterbury Student Association (UCSA)

  • Part-time – 5 days, 25 hours per week
  • Permanent position

Reporting to the Centre Manager, the Centre Administrator is responsible for maintaining efficient day-to-day administrative operations of the Centre, ensuring that legislative requirements are met in conjunction with the Centre Manager, and providing a warm and friendly point of contact for enquiries from parents and the community.
The University of Canterbury Students’ Association (UCSA) is a not for profit organisation with charity status. The Ilam Early Learning Centre is a purpose-built centre on the University campus, offering early childhood education to children of students and staff of the University and the local community.
This vacancy is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Administrator looking for school hours to work in a well-respected, high-quality centre (Please see our ERO report and Philosophy).

  • Administrative experience
  • Experience in working in an Early Learning Centre would be an advantage
  • Ability to effectively operate computer programmes including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with Databases, use of Discover would be an advantage
  • Friendly and approachable, with a particular empathy for students
  • Honest and reliable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to conduct him or herself in a positive and professional manner at all times
  • Ability to prioritise, multitask and work under pressure
  • Self-motivated, proactive with excellent time management skills
  • Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail

This is a part-time permanent opportunity. The hours are 9am-2.30pm, Monday to Friday.
