We are looking for a passionate Centre Cook to join our vibrant and culturally diverse team at Busy Bees Ormiston Road in Flat Bush. The mahi: Working Monday to Friday, you will take charge of preparing daily kai for our tamariki while maintaining high standards of food safety and kitchen hygiene. Your day will involve following nutritional guidelines, managing dietary requirements and supporting the centre with food related routines. You will also have the exciting opportunity to incorporate our cultural cooking and playground to plate garden initiatives into your daily prep. Beyond the cooking, you will be a familiar, friendly face for the children and a valued contributor to our overall centre culture. About you: Confident cooking for groups, purchasing weekly groceries and adhering to an allocated budget Organised, efficient and able to maintain a clean, well run kitchen while documenting daily food records and following cleaning schedules Committed to maintaining high levels of hygiene and safe food practices Warm, friendly and a great communicator with a consistent, positive and flexible attitude Proactive in maintaining safety standards and reporting hazards to ensure a safe environment for our tamariki Experience cooking in an ECE centre or similar environment is an advantage A full, clean New Zealand driver licence Why you will love it here: You will be part of a genuinely friendly, supportive team where your work is noticed and appreciated.
