Young Academics Early Learning Centre is a leading and reputable provider with more than 50 centres across New South Wales. We are currently seeking an experienced Centre Cook to join our Mortdale Service. This position is a Full-time role - Monday to Friday between 7am-3pm. About the Role As a Centre Cook at Young Academics, your expertise in the kitchen will assist in creating meaningful learning experiences and environments that reflect best practice and align with our service philosophy. As a service, compliance and child safety remain our highest priority, and you will be expected to uphold our child-safe practices in all aspects of your role. You will also collaborate with fellow educators to build strong, respectful partnerships with children, families and the wider community, fostering a supportive environment that enhances children’s health and safety, wellbeing, confidence, and lifelong love of learning. Responsibilities Implement and modify (where required) a seasonal menu created by our nutritionist Maintain regular checks in compliance with the NSW Food Standards Code and Health Regulations Assist staff and families in providing high-quality education and care Collaborate with the staff and families to facilitate learning opportunities relevant to the educational program Maintain professional, supportive and respectful relationships between management, staff, families and children Maintain Mandatory Reporting responsibilities and requirements About You Demonstrated Cook/Chef experience in the Aged Care or Early Childhood Education and Care sector An ACECQA-approved qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care is preferred, but not mandatory Alternatively, a relevant Commercial Cooks qualification Food Handlers Basics Certificate Valid NSW Employee Working with Children Check Knowledge of Food Standards Codes, EYLF and NQS Commitment to upholding a Child Safe Organisation and inclusive practices Maintain Mandatory National Child Safety Training Child Safety Matters At Young Academics, we prioritise children's safety and wellbeing. You will be required to provide a minimum of two professional referees as part of the recruitment process. Young Academics conducts reference checks, will verify that you hold a valid WWCC for paid work, and confirms that you do not have any prohibition or statutory notices against you.
