QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years of Dredging & Dewatering Experience (i.e settling ponds, pulp & paper, lime sludge, municipal, etc.)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum valid Class 5 Driver’s license.
  • Ability to operate Heavy Equipment with various attachments is an asset.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office and other computer systems.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting a minimum of 55lbs, working in confined spaces, standing for an extended period of time, frequent use of ladders and working at heights.
  • Proficient with two-way radio communications.
  • Mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and other troubleshooting knowledge is an asset.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including extreme heat or cold depending on location.

Responsibilities

VARIOUS OTHER TASKS & EXPECTATIONS

  • General laboring at times, including but not limited to, digging, sweeping, monitoring, sampling and spotting for trucks.
  • Preventative maintenance and manual labor, which may include some instruction to others.
  • Must be willing to work day & night shifts, up to 12 hours in duration, along with the possibility of assigned on-call shifts and/or additional overtime when deemed necessary.
  • Drive a crew truck to and from site as required.
  • Occasionally assist with mentoring new employees.
  • Conduct daily pre-& post-operational checks on equipment & document in equipment logs.
  • Clean, lubricate and fuel all equipment and general site housekeeping.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all incidents occurring on site to the Supervisor.
