Must have a current Texas CNA and CMA certification, excellent hospitality skills, and enjoy working with seniors. Schedule: CMA duties Monday - Friday 1:45pm - 10:15pm. CMA Responsibilities and Duties: * Administer routine medications per physician orders and regulations. * Take vital signs as indicated and/or required. * Respond to nurse call bells for assistance. * Assist other aides in their general duties as needed or assigned. * Immediately reports any change in resident’s condition to their supervisor. * Assist residents in getting to and from meals and activities as needed and assigned. * Responsible for restocking the medication carts, all medication ordered for each resident must be on the carts, with extra medication stored in the resident’s bin until needed on the carts. * Responsible for daily maintenance and cleaning of all medication carts and medication rooms. * Responsible for maintaining the separation of internal and external meds on the carts. * Removal of expired meds from the carts . Responsible to give a list of expired medications needing to be refilled to the Team Leader, who will reorder all expired medications as needed prior to the end of their shift. * Reordering medications assigned on a daily basis Monday through Friday. * Counting of controlled substances will be done by the off-going and on-coming shift. * Assigned CMAs will check AEDs on a weekly basis in the HCC and IL. Qualifications and Skills * Previous experience working in rehab/skilled nursing is preferred * Must be a Certified Nurse Aide and Certified Medication Aide in the State of Texas. * Excellent hospitality skills, and enjoy working with seniors.
