Position Summary General Summary/Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Supervisor, Coordinator, Team Leaders, and Pharmacists and according to standard procedures, upon receiving physician orders, assists in the preparation, distribution, and documentation of medication processes Qualifications Education Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED Additional requirements: Type of degree: N/A Area of study or major: N/A Preferred educational qualifications: N/A Position specific testing requirement: N/A Licensure/Certification/Registration Certified Pharmacy Technician required Experience Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience Prior job title or occupational experience: Prior hospital, long-term care or retail experience preferred Prior specific functional responsibilities: N/A Preferred experience: N/A Other experience requirements: N/A Knowledge/Skills Possess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem solving skills Able to read and write printed material in English Proficiency with computer keyboard operations Ability to compute simple algebraic ratios, volume/volume percentage and weight/volume percentage Possess ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as team member Ability to transport medication cart (@ 250 lbs.)
Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, this role assists in the preparation, distribution, and documentation of medication processes following physician orders and standard procedures. Responsibilities are carried out within a retail pharmacy setting reporting to the Pharmacy Supervisor.
