OVERVIEW

The Athletic Director plays a pivotal role in partnership with students, parents, coaches, and healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care of student-athletes of local school district. Focus on injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, emergency and immediate care, as well as treatment, rehabilitation, and support for the overall health and well-being of individuals involved in school athletic programs.

Responsibilities

  • Emphasizes five core competencies: prevention of injuries, evaluation and diagnosis, immediate care and first response, rehabilitation and recovery, and healthcare operations management.
  • Works closely with a licensed physician, collaborating with students, parents, coaches, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive, high-quality care.
  • Oversees key responsibilities such as patient triage, injury assessments, medical history collection, brace and equipment fitting, and the development and implementation of rehabilitation and injury prevention plans.
  • Maintains detailed and accurate records using our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, while coordinating patient self-care strategies, designing home exercise programs, and providing educational resources to the community.
  • Delivers expert care across the spectrum of injury prevention, evaluation, emergency response, rehabilitation, and medical documentation.
