FAU Athletics is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer for WOMEN’S BASKETBALL AND WOMEN’S GOLF – Boca Raton, FL.
Summary of Responsibilities Include:
- Assist the Head Athletic Trainer with coordination and administration of the athletic training program in a manner that provides for competent and complete medical care for all student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics under the direction of the team physician and the Athletic Director.
- Responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for student-athletes.
- Administer first aid to injured athletes and apply protective devices such as taping, bandaging or bracing.
- Assist Head Athletic Trainer and team physician(s) in determining whether an athlete is fit for participation in an athletic function.
- Assist in the administration program, athletic pre-participation physicals, echocardiograms, and drug-testing programs.
- Work cooperatively with, and under, the direction of the team physician in respect to the operation of the therapeutic devices and equipment, fitting of braces, guards, or other devices, referrals to physicians, health service or hospital.
- Olympic Sport pre-participation physicals: Coordinate and submit Olympic sport spreadsheets of completion to Compliance Office and coordinator dates and times with coaches and Boca Raton Regional Hospital.
- Insurance Liaison: Work with Student Health Services in arranging care for domestic student-athletes and work with outside insurance group, Insurance for students, and the office of International Student and Scholar Services to make sure we are compliant with university protocol for international students.
- Student Health Center Liaison: Referral and documentation/billing updates for student-athletes.
- Budget/Inventory: Evaluate new athletic training products with Head Athletic Trainer throughout fiscal year, and delegate/oversee inventory with assistant athletic trainers.
- Any other duty that may be initiated as requested by the Head Athletic Trainer.
