JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. The primary responsibility of the Certified Professional Coderwill be reviewing evaluation and management documentation or operative reports to determine accurate diagnosis and procedure coding of neurology or urology services.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Qualifications: High School diploma; college degree or coding technical certificate required or AAPC certification. E&M experience is required, Epic experience required, and Urology surgical coding and/or specialty certification is not required but would be beneficial. Effective communication skills, ability to work as a team with co-workers, constant customer service, focus on excellent decision-making skills, professionalism, and desire to provide quality service to clients.

Responsibilities

Job Duties include but are not limited to: Assigning appropriate diagnosis (ICD-10) and procedure CPT codes after reviewing provider documentation, based on a solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Identifying documentation deficiencies and effectively communicating these queries back to the Coding Team and/or providers. Provider Education when we have coding updates. Implementing knowledge of regulatory and payer guidelines to submit accurate, timely claims to payers, as well as appealing coding related denied or unpaid claims with payers.
