Qualifications Needed for Certified Teacher Positions Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred. Current, valid New York State Teaching Certification in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) or comparable elementary certification, or eligibility for reciprocity. Proven success or student teaching experience in an elementary classroom, with a commitment to instructional excellence. Strong knowledge of evidence-based literacy and math instruction, as well as differentiation techniques. Demonstrated ability to create inclusive, equitable, and culturally affirming classroom environments. Effective communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Adaptability and initiative in meeting the needs of diverse learners. Commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflection.
