Work Shift Job Summary: The Application Analyst in the Wellstar Information Technology department is responsible for the support, optimization and enhancement of clinical and revenue cycle applications across the Wellstar Health System, with a primary focus on Epic. Reporting to the Manager of Clinical and Revenue Cycle Applications, this intermediate-level role requires proven experience in building, configuring and supporting Healthcare Information Technology systems to meet the evolving needs of clinical and operational stakeholders. The candidate must have a minimum of three years healthcare experience, including a minimum of three years Epic and/or associated application build experience. For Epic positions, certification in two or more relevant applications is required. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving issues, delivering high-quality end-user support and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement new features, workflows and enhancements. The analyst will provide application and technical support within a defined service line, contributing to design, build, testing and ongoing maintenance activities. Application enhancements should prioritize end-user efficiency and experience. The analyst may serve as the primary support for complex systems or contribute to larger projects involving more advanced platforms. Candidates will preferably have a minimum of one year of project management experience, having successfully led application-specific initiatives. In alignment with Wellstar's culture of continuous improvement, Lean certification is preferred or must be obtained upon hiring. Ideal candidates will bring human factors design awareness, a commitment to Agile methodologies and will have experience delivering meaningful system improvements in collaboration with cross-functional clinical and operational teams. This is a high-impact role offering a clear career path toward a Senior Application Analyst. Success in this role requires collaboration within a highly matrixed organization, working closely with other Information Technology and operational teams to deliver solutions that improve care delivery and user satisfaction. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Application Support & Maintenance: Deliver support to ensure the efficient operation of assigned applications. Assist with troubleshooting and resolving system issues in collaboration with Associate Application Analysts, Senior Analysts and other IT teams. Document system configurations, workflows and resolution steps to promote knowledge sharing and maintain long-term application stability. System Design, Build & Human-Centered Configuration: * Configure Epic and related third-party applications to meet evolving clinical and operational requirements. * Apply human factors design principles to reduce friction, support decision-making, and improve the user experience. * Lead integration testing, user acceptance testing, and go-live readiness assessments. * Assist in validation and testing of EHR systems to support clinical workflows and operational needs. * Collaborate with Application Analysts, Senior Application Analysts and clinical staff to implement EHR enhancements and optimize user workflows. * Participate in EHR testing, system upgrades and validation processes to ensure ongoing functionality, performance and regulatory compliance. * Learn how to thoroughly document EHR configuration changes, test results and issue resolutions to support team knowledge-sharing and long-term system stability. Project Management: Gather, clarify and document clinical and operational requirements from stakeholders. Prioritize tasks, manage time effectively and track progress across multiple assignments. Schedule, facilitate and document meetings with clear agendas, notes and action items. Create and maintain workflow diagrams and process documentation to support system improvements. Build foundational skills in project planning and use tools like Excel, Project, SharePoint, etc. Cross-Department Collaboration & Functional Support: Act as a liaison between IT and clinical or operational teams to support effective communication around Epic and related third-party application functionality. Develop a foundational understanding of how healthcare applications integrate with other systems, contributing insights to improve usability and workflow alignment. Support project teams by assisting with requirements gathering, process documentation and implementation tasks across departments. Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders to ensure technology solutions align with clinical and operational goals. Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma General or Bachelors Information Technology-Preferred or Bachelors Health Administration-Preferred or Bachelors Nursing-Preferred or Bachelors Medical Technology-Preferred or Bachelors General-Preferred Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. Additional License(s) and Certification(s): For Epic positions - Certification in 2 or more modules, including 1 for assigned application area.
