Job Summary West Shore Country Club is a premier private country club located in Camp Hill, PA. Our Pool Staff strives to bring our members and guests an exceptional experience while enjoying a relaxing and fun day at our establishment. The Lifeguard will ensure swimmers’ safety in the pool area and administer first aid or lifesaving techniques when needed. The Lifeguard position is a seasonal position. Pool Hours: (Memorial Day - Labor Day) Sunday - Thursday: 11:00 am- 9:00 pm Friday & Saturday: 11:00 am - 10:00 pm Duties/Responsibilities: Ensures that the rules and regulations of the swimming pool are followed to maintain a safe swimming environment. Administers first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and uses automated external defibrillator (AED) when needed. Contacts emergency medical personnel when a serious injury occurs. Performs occasional pool cleaning and maintenance tasks such as vacuuming the pool and cleaning the drains. Checks the pool water by conducting chemical tests; maintains cleanliness of the water by adding the proper pool chemicals. Collects applicable pool admission fees and works in the concession stand when scheduled. Provides swimming lessons when needed. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Must be at least 16 years old. Must possess, or be able to obtain, the following certifications from the Red Cross or other equivalent agency: lifeguard training, CPR, AED, and first aid. Minors are required to obtain a Work Permit prior to employment. Extensive knowledge of and ability to administer or use first aid, CPR, AED, and other lifesaving techniques. Excellent observational skills. Ability to enforce pool regulations and rules. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be available to work holidays: Memorial Day, July Fourth, Labor Day Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, including days, evenings, weekends, and holiday schedules. Physical Requirements: Must be a skilled swimmer and able to pull weight through the water. Must be physically able to rescue someone drowning or injured in the water. Prolonged periods of being outdoors.
