The CMA will assist physicians with patient care, perform routine clinical tasks, and ensure smooth office operations. Key responsibilities include taking patient histories, measuring vital signs, administering injections, assisting with exams and procedures, managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and handling administrative duties like billing and coding. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment. Certification as a Medical Assistant is required. Patient Care: Take and record patient medical histories. Measure and monitor vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiratory rate). Prepare patients for exams and assist healthcare providers during procedures. Clinical Duties: Administer injections, vaccines, and medications as directed by physicians. Collect and prepare lab specimens (e.g., blood, urine) for testing. Perform basic diagnostic tests (e.g., EKGs, vision tests). Sterilize and maintain medical instruments. Administrative Duties: Schedule patient appointments and manage the office calendar. Answer phones, take messages, and handle patient inquiries. Manage patient records, ensuring they are accurate, up-to-date, and confidential. Process billing and insurance claims, including coding and verifying patient information. Patient Education: Provide patients with instructions for medications, procedures, and follow-up care. Educate patients on health management and preventive care. Qualifications CMA certification Strong clinical and administrative skills Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality
