Overview: Assist provider and other clinical staff with obtaining basic vital information preparing patient for examination, treatment and minor surgical procedures. Responsible for tracking system for follow-up appointments related to office visits, laboratory tests and procedures to regularly follow patients monitoring disease status, including in-basket tasks, nurse folders, and providing results and provider instructions to patients. Schedule referrals for patients with specialist or outpatient as requested by the provider. Other duties as assigned by provider or supervisor within scope of CMA guidelines. Complete appropriate forms or requisitions needed for referrals or lab testing, including appropriate CPT/ICD-10 coding. Answer questions and provide teaching to patients and family members. Become certified in appropriate occupational medicine testing within 6 months of hire date as advised by supervisor. Triage patients as according to severity of illness or injury. Performs injections, TB placements, ear lavages, venipuncture, and other procedures as directed by the provider. Responsibilities: Clinical Excellence/Patient Care
Development and Patient Education
Occupational Medicine certification needed within 6 months of hire date, including breath alcohol testing, drug screening, audiograms, obtain knowledge of all DOT requirements.
