Overview Certified Medical Assistant Marshalltown Multispecialty Clinic Hours: Full-Time; 40 Hours per Week; Monday-Friday - Day Shift Eligible for $5,000 sign on bonus! The CMA (Certified Medical Assistant)-Multispecialty Clinic is responsible for assisting the provider with front office and back office duties in the outpatient management of patients on a rotating basis. This position is a vital part of the office team that cares for patients in the clinic setting working under the direction of a physician and working closely with the physicians, other clinical staff, and front office staff. Additionally, CMA is responsible for a variety of clinical functions within a clinic setting requiring knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data; discretion; good judgment; diplomacy; decision making; and a customer service attitude.Acting as the patient advocate, the clinical care attendant has continuous contact with physicians, patients, patient families/ significant others, community agencies, and patient care staff and management. Responsibilities Perform nursing procedures under the supervision of physicians, nurse practitioners, or physician assistants; assist providers during exams and procedures. Prepare and maintain exam rooms, including stocking supplies, maintaining instruments, and ensuring proper sterilization. Greet and welcome patients promptly upon arrival and ensure accurate registration in the EMR system. Escort patients throughout the visit, including rooming, check-out, and assistance with paperwork or online registration as needed. Interview patients, obtain vital signs (weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature), and document all findings accurately in the medical record. Provide patient instructions and education as directed by the provider. Manage phone calls and messages, responding to patient, physician, and pharmacy inquiries and routing information appropriately. Support provider scribing needs and process messages from patients and front-office staff to clinical providers. Maintain required logs and safety checks, including refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen levels, and sterilization processes. Qualifications Required: Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants. Current CME certification for National Certified Medical Assistant from the NCCT or AAMMA. Preferred: Two years’ experience in a family practice setting, urgent care, or related field preferred but not required
Responsibilities
