Join our nationwide multidisciplinary team of providers! Position Summary This position is part of the VBA MDE (Veterans Benefits Administration Medical Disabilities Examinations) program. The Vendor schedules Veterans at contracted clinical facilities and embeds practitioners in facilities as needs warrant. Dedicated facilities are located in areas where there is a large Veteran population with the potential for high volume. Key Competencies Attendance and punctuality is necessary. Ability to work well with a multidisciplinary team as well as problem solve, and be self-motivated are also required. Must have excellent written and oral skills, strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills. Expected to have strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to understand and follow written/verbal instructions. Able to work independently with little or no supervision. Role Specifics/Medical Assistant Perform requested X-rays or labs X-rays will be sent to a third party for a report Labs will be sent to LabCorp or Quest for testing Perform EKGs and PFTs Training will be required and offered by the client for all staff members performing PFTs EKG manuals are available on-site so staff are familiar with the equipment we use Greet the Veterans and show them to the exam room Report any no-shows to the client Keep the facility tidy Obtain ancillary results from the practitioners Track completed and pending exams to ensure they are submitted within 1 business day via the Provider Portal Work Environment This job operates in a healthcare setting. The role routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. Requirements Minimal Position Requirements Education & Experience: College education, high school diploma, or equivalent. Completion of medical assistant training program required with MA certification. Phlebotomy certification a plus. Minimum of one-year experience in an outpatient medical clinic or hospital, medical office setting.
Responsibilities
The Certified Medical Assistant will perform requested X-rays, labs, EKGs, and PFTs, while also greeting Veterans and ensuring the facility remains tidy. They will track completed and pending exams to ensure timely submission via the Provider Portal.
