Schedule: Full Time Monday-Friday 8:30a-5p Location: 2363 63RD ST, Woodridge, 60517 (will also work in Bolingbrook and Carol Stream) The role you’ll contribute: The Medical Assistant, under general supervision, provides appropriate care to patients as well as follows AdventHealth service standards. This includes safely and effectively greeting patients, obtaining clinical information, financial and demographic information. Responsible for assisting providers during treatment and examination and may assist with procedures and medication administration as ordered by the provider. Performs office duties as needed; which includes but is not limited to, verifying insurance, collecting copays and scheduling necessary appointments. The value you’ll bring to the team: Other duties as assigned. Travels as needed to fulfill staffing needs and support clinic operations. Stays up to date and familiar with all policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with organizational standards. Maintains education requirements for the position and demonstrates competency through annual clinical competencies and written tests. Ensures efficient office flow by preparing patients and equipment for treatment, initiating testing, and documenting results in the practice’s designated system. Maintains OSHA regulatory enforcement and other office compliance, following safety processes and policies. Provides whole care to patients during office visits, including intake, test results, screenings, labs, medication administration, and closure of care gaps. Maintains confidentiality of employees' and patients' administrative and medical information. Supports staff teamwork by assisting patients, visitors, and co-workers when necessary. Performs clinical intake according to policy and procedures, including screenings, history taking, vital signs, and medication reconciliation. Assists with minor procedures associated with specialty and ensures accurate documentation at the time of service or results. Educates patients regarding tests, medications, and diet, providing clear and accurate instructions. Monitors and manages inventory, ensuring adequate supplies and functioning medical equipment. The expertise and experience you’ll need to succeed: High School Grad or Equiv Required One or more years of Work Experience Preferred Knowledge of health care field and medical terminology Knowledge of chronic disease management Knowledge of and ability to utilize internal and external resources Expertise in patient advocacy and navigating complex systems Ability to function and assist others in stressful, fast-paced environments and effectively apply stress management techniques Ability to resolve issues and work independently within the scope of their certification Ability to exercise sound judgement, diplomacy and a professional demeanor Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing and typing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively to carry out job requirements Experience with computers required BLS through American Heart Association required Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) Preferred or American Registry of Medical Assistants (AMRA) Required or American Medical Technologists (AMT) Required or National Center for Competency Testing-Medical Asst (NCCT) Required or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Required
