Job Summary: Performs non-invasive, routine, technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse midwife. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: * High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required Licenses/Certifications: * Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution: Required * Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification: Required * Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP: Preferred * Phlebotomy certificate: Preferred Facility Specific License/Certifications: * Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or California Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Medical Assistant - NCCT (NCCT) or Certified Medical Assistant- NHA (CMA-NHA) or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Medical Assistant (MA) or American Medical Tech Board MA (MA-AMT): Required Essential Functions: * Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients. Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals and transfers. * Obtains vital signs, and reports significant findings and pertinent patient observations to clinic physician. * Performs audiometry and vision testing. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Responsibilities
The Certified Medical Assistant performs routine technical support services, including setting up exam rooms and checking in patients. They are responsible for obtaining vital signs, performing audiometry and vision testing, and maintaining patient records.
