Description
Performs, as member of Pain Management Center Team, various duties assisting nurses and physicians in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with established policies and procedures. Manages patient flow for providers. Ensures telephone calls are triaged appropriately and providers receive necessary information. Advocates for patients as appropriate and assists in resolving patients concerns. Greets and assists patients into exam areas. Obtains relevant information, takes vital signs and inputs pertinent clinical information into the medical records. Prepares for exams and procedures according to department protocol. Assists providers with clinical procedures and/or additional tests specific to the department. May advise patient of preparation required for exam or additional testing specific to the department and keeps patients informed of visit status, unforeseen delays and other relevant information. Ensures the exam rooms are prepared and/or maintained. Cleans and/or maintains supplies and equipment. Provides clerical/office support as needed. Maintain accurate/timely documentation. Performs other work related duties as assigned or requested. Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers in a manner that reflects Cape Cod Hospital's commitment to CARES: compassion, accountability, respect, excellence and service. Ability to read, write and communicate in English High School Diploma or GED Nationally Certified Medical Assistant Experience with current office technology and computer office applications Current Basic Life Support Certification required and must maintain certification Successful passage of a Medical Terminology course or successful passage of the CCH Medical Terminology challenge exam
