The Certified Medical Assistant facilitates patient care in a team-based environment. Excellent communication and customer service skills are required to provide a coordinated and high-quality customer service experience. The Medical Assistant will work with providers and other team members to provide a broad array of patient services and can perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. This is a Part-time position located at our South Austin ASC: 701 E. FM 1626 Suite 300 Austin, TX 78748 Phone: (512) 953-8134 Detailed Responsibilities Prepare for the following day’s clinic appointments ensuring all required reports are available for the Provider’s review Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments Room patients per scheduling criteria set forth by Provider; obtain vital signs Record patient information such as vital signs, quality reporting data, and changes in medical history prior to Provider entering the patient’s room Obtain urine and blood serum specimens from patients; package and submit to lab following protocol set by Provider Run outstanding order reports for clinic follow-up Prepare medication refills for the provider Obtain prior authorizations for medications when requested Assist in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed Assist with patient calls Maintain sample logs Additional tasks assigned by management. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Prior experience as a Medical Assistant preferred A minimum of one-year experience within the medical field Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook BLS Certification Other Position Requirements Organized and detail-oriented Customer oriented Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. #IND100
