Description Medical assistants provide physician support services that ensure that healthcare facilities run smoothly. They are responsible for administrative as well as clinical tasks, such as maintaining patient records, preparing patients and rooms for examination, assisting physicians with exams, and performing front-desk tasks. The schedule for this position is Tuesday- Thursday only. Stellar work ethic, on-time, be dependable to the team and be a self-starter Knowledge and use of all medical equipment and computers and ability to ask questions to insure positive outcome Knowledge and proficiency of medical and medication terminology Ability to effectively read, write and speak English and be proficient in math skills and concepts Provide efficient communication with medical providers, supervisors and peers Be a team player and provide input to the team. Able to work independently and ability to ask questions to improve knowledge of job Willing to learn and implement new tasks and procedures Assist with Medical and Counseling Teams when needed and assist with procedures Procedures: Collect PGT specimens and process paperwork to the lab. Collect urine for UDT and process correct paperwork to Beechtree. Nurse visits Follows strict HIPAA compliance guidelines, emergency procedures, medication and F/U protocols, follows MDS, medical waste and body fluid clean up protocol Reports directly to Nursing Supervisor Requirements Available to work Tuesday- Thursday Must be a graduate of accredited Medical Assisting program (usually a 9 to 18-month program) and hold current CMA or RMA certification or equivalent work experience as deemed acceptable by Pearl Health Clinic Management Must be BLS certified Be proficient in computer typing skills, EMR entry, patient care, and knowledge of medical and medication terminology
