Description We are seeking a reliable and motivated Medical Assistant to join our growing outpatient behavioral health / psychiatry practice with multiple providers in Tempe. This role supports both clinical and administrative operations, ensuring patients receive efficient and compassionate care. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage responsibilities in a fast-paced outpatient mental health setting. This position requires strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. Requirements Clinical Responsibilities Obtain and document patient vitals Perform phlebotomy / lab draws Conduct EKGs Perform CLIA-waived testing Assist providers with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatments Assist with ketamine treatment services Prepare exam rooms and support providers during patient visits Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality Administrative Responsibilities Complete prior authorizations for medications and treatments Process medication refill requests Manage incoming and outgoing faxes Support patient intake and scheduling Assist with insurance verification Conduct billing discussions and payment collections Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR system Support clinic workflow and communication with providers Qualifications Medical Assistant certification preferred (experience may be considered) Phlebotomy experience required Experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, or outpatient medical settings preferred Knowledge of prior authorizations and insurance processes Experience with EMR systems Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to multitask and work in a team-oriented environment Strong patient service and communication skills What We’re Looking For Strong critical thinking and sound judgment Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively A dependable team player with a positive attitude Someone who is adaptable and quick to learn in a clinical environment Benefits Health Benefits Life Insurance 401K Paid Time Off Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm Opportunity to work in a collaborative mental health and psychiatry practice
