Overview $5000 Sign-on Bonus! The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) works with providers, nursing, and patient care techs to help support patient care needs on the inpatient med/surg rehab unit. In coordination and as delegated by the nurse, the CMA may complete the following tasks, but not limited to taking patient vital signs, performs dressing changes, passes non-controlled and non-intravenous medications, and supports admission and discharge tasks on the unit. Responsibilities Rooming patients including vital signs (weight, height, BP, pulse), current medication list, updating meaningful use criteria per department policies. Maintain integrity of EMR by making sure all patient information is entered and clinic practice standards are followed. Assist with procedure documentation in EMR. Prepares patient care rooms and procedure rooms for patient care. Organize, clean, and maintain clinic work areas, supplies, and equipment. Assisting with stocking and management/ordering supplies. Responsible for ordering / maintaining clinic supplies. Rotates / removes outdated stock / supplies Cleans equipment after each patient use. Cleans patient care rooms / tables between every patient per clinic protocol Assures that all necessary equipment and supplies are available in patient care rooms and procedure rooms. Cross train to clerical responsibilities and pre-authorization processes. Qualifications Medical Assistant training from an approved institution Current CMS or RMA certification required Minimum of 1 year experience in a clinic setting preferred. BLS required Experiences with clinic or hospital based EMR preferred. Good understanding or prior use of the following programs or ability to train quickly: Excel, Word Experience working with insurance companies/pre-authorizations preferred.
Responsibilities
