Find a fulfilling career and make a difference with UnityPoint Health. Responsibilities Support primary care delivery through assessments, histories, procedures, and accurate EHR documentation. Administer medications and perform licensed clinical tasks including IV and catheter placement. Provide patient education, telephone triage, and follow‑up care guidance. Coordinate communication between patients, families, providers, and ancillary services. Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, regulatory standards, and organizational policies. Supervise and delegate to LPNs and Medical Assistants; contribute to team development. Understand specialty procedures, testing values, and precertification requirements. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants. Current CME certification for Certified Medical Assistant and AAMA or NCCT certification. Mandatory Reporter certification Meets educational/competency requirements per policy. Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred. Computer data entry experience. CPR certification. Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures Able to write, read, comprehend and speak fluent English. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
