Description
Assist physicians with various aspects of patient care (including clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks) ensuring patient satisfaction. In addition to core Medical Assistant responsibilities, serves as lead person for team regarding day-to-day workflow issues or office procedures. Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm | On-call Rotation Responsibilities: Participate in team meetings to stay updated on workflow and safety changes. Support department goals by following established processes and helping orient new team members. Provide patient instructions and education as directed by the provider. Document patient information accurately and follow all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements. Work with your manager to identify and improve clinical and non‑clinical workflows, including infection‑control practices. Serve as an EPIC super user and support staff with system navigation as assigned. Complete all required competency training and demonstrate proficiency in clinical tasks such as vital signs, medication and vaccine administration, CLIA‑waived testing, lab collection, TB testing, wound care, EKGs, phlebotomy, and ear irrigation. Manage patient records by sending, receiving, and handling documentation in compliance with HIPAA and all regulations. Coordinate patient information by obtaining lab and imaging results, hospital notes, and referral details; completing forms; scheduling appointments; and verifying insurance and demographics. Prepare exam rooms by setting up equipment, rooming patients, and ensuring readiness for provider examinations. High school diploma or equivalent required Medical Assistant certification from a national certifying organization (AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, or NHA), or successful completion of Medical Assistant program, or graduated from an LPN, RN, or EMT/Paramedics program (must have received & maintained certification if EMT) required. Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.
