***Requires Medical Interpreter Certification and requires knowledge of diverse medical terminology in English and target language*** Hours:  Week 1 - 8am-4:30pm - Mon-Wed and Fri-Sat Week 2 - 8am=4:30pm Sun and Tue-Fri Location:  Riley Maternity Tower (MT) every other weekend and clinics (LS) the rest of the week Position Summary: Provides support to LOE (Language Other than English) patients, families, and medical staff providing care.  Assists designated patients and provides support to the care team under the direction of the clinical nurse. Serves as the liaison between clinical, medical staff and patients and/or families. Assures care of patients and families is reflective of IU Health's values. Required qualifications: * Minimum of two (2) years of medical interpretation experience required * Completion of the Bridging the Gap program or national certification required  * Flexibility to assist with additional assignments, including translation, as needed   Position Requirements: Provides support to Limited English Proficiency (LEP) patients, families, and medical staff providing care. Administers care to designated patients and provides support to the care team under the direction of the clinical nurse. Serves as the liaison between clinical, medical staff and patients and/or families. Responsibilities
Acts as a liaison between medical staff and Limited English Proficiency patients and families to ensure quality care. Provides interpretation and translation support under the direction of the clinical nurse.
