Responsibilities Under the direction of a licensed nurse, the Certified Medicine Aide administers patient medications and treatments. This individual will function within the standards of practice per certification and state regulations. *Reports observations concerning patient condition, emergency situations or difficulties with medications to the supervising nurse. *Prepares and administers routine medications as prescribed by the provider and PRN medications only after an RN assessment. *Documents administration of medications per company policies. *Maintains medication supply for refills only and cleans and restocks medicine carts and medicine. *Performs accurate vital sign monitoring when indicated by drug therapy. Qualifications *Successful completion of a state-approved medicine course. *Completion of a state approved certified nursing assistant program. *Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant with two years of experience. *Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors to respond to their medical and physical needs. *Basic knowledge of computers and/or willingness to learn. *Must attend a minimum of 16 hours continuing education programs provided by the nursing center to maintain certification.
